Officially, the U.S. does not have or keep any weapons-grade anthrax. President Nixon ordered the dismantling of U.S. biowarfare programs in 1969 and the destruction of all existing bioweapons, including anthrax.And there you have it. This is all part of the secret government that has been steadily building influence since WWII.
I think what's really telling about this case is that the idiots in the FBI do not really understand what they are talking about, and yet they assume that the rest of us are just as stupid - in fact, even more stupid. Because they think they are all so very clever.

I note that the Otago Daily Times was top story at antiwar.com yesterday, with an article taking the piss out of the FBI's anthrax investigation in a way the US press would never dare attempt (even Brad Friedman has to write for the Brits). So was this a warning to the Kiwis?
